I.S. 281 in partnership with NIA, is proud to announce our production of Moana Jr. This thrilling and heartwarming coming-of-age story follows the strong-willed Moana, as she sets sail across the Pacific to save her village and discover the truth about her heritage. Moana and the legendary demigod, Maui, embark on an epic journey of self-discovery and camaraderie, as both learn to harness the power that lies within. With empowering messages of bravery and selflessness, Moana JR. is sure to bring out the hero within each of us. Please see the attached flyer and permission slip, as all IS 281 students are welcome to audition on January 31st

Wednesday the 22nd is Senior Picture Day. Please remind your 8th graders to bring in their forms.

Thursday the 23rd is our CBT Simulation Day. Students will be taking the ELA and Math CBT during Periods 2 and 3. I will send a follow up email tomorrow with more information.

Friday, we will be holding our Principal Honor Roll ceremonies for Grade 6, 7 and 8 during periods 3, 4 and 5 respectively. The students who made Silver, Gold or Platinum honor roll for the 1st marking period will receive a letter, and families will be permitted to attend.

Our Cavallaro Webmaster Vlad has done it again, our school has scored a perfect score of a 5 on the accessibility report for our school website is281.com. (see attached) Thank you Vlad for your continued service to ensure everyone in our community has equal opportunity and access to our information and resources.

A special thank you to Mr. Febbraro, who applied for and was approved for a grant which awards our school with 100 pairs of Nike sneakers and sports equipment. Once we receive the items, we will determine how best to distribute to students.
