Family Newsletter - 3-3-25

Here is the news for next week:
  • See the attached flyer for an opportunity for our immigrant families to receive support
  • Our 7th graders were provided with valuable information pertaining to traffic safety, including the tragic dangers of subway surfing. A special thank you to Mr. Malcolm from the Department of Transportation for the presentation, it is our hope that our students paid close attention to the ways in which they can keep themselves safe while traveling to and from school.
  • Today, our school community celebrated Black History Month with song, dance, and commemorative speeches. A special thank you to those who performed – Mr. Diaz, who sang a beautiful rendition of Harold Melvin & The Blue Notes Lyrics "Wake Up Everybody”, Ms. Rubin and her incredibly talented dance students, and all of our student speakers, who spoke solemnly and eloquently, highlighting the work of our next generation of activists and entrepreneurs. A special shout out to Ms. Richman and her art students, whose artwork decorated the auditorium – paying homage to those who paved the way for equal rights for all, as well as to Ms. Zambri who provided the balloon decor. This assembly would not have been possible without the hard work and dedication of Ms. Boyd, Ms. Cardazone, Ms. Green and Ms. Tobias, who organized and managed the entire event. Thank you for giving of your time to ensure that our school community commemorated the month, encouraging the ideals and values of equality and respect.

  • Congratulations to the UNDEFEATED Brooklyn Division Champs! Our Girls’ Basketball team finished the regular season perfect by defeating I.S. 220 by the score of 41-10. Gillian led the way with 14 points. Alaine and Emily had six points each. Arlene had 4 points; Isabella had 3 points; Winnie, Amiaya, Angel and Teonee all scored. It was a great team win, and an awesome regular season. Now on to the Playoffs….
